About

Vitória El Ghezz da Fonseca Hermes is a professional dancer and multidisciplinary artist, with dance at the core of her practice. Her work unfolds through contemporary dance, ballet and flamenco, and extends into teaching, choreography, writing, illustration and painting.

Born on November 20th, 2002, in Barcelona, she is Brazilian by nationality and a citizen of the world at heart. Growing up without a fixed home and moving between very different countries from an early age shaped her adaptability, sensitivity and embodied way of relating to the world.

She began dancing almost as soon as she could walk, growing up immersed in movement through her family — both her mother and grandmother were dancers. From an early age, the body was not only a place of expression, but also of observation, curiosity and learning. Throughout childhood and adolescence, she explored multiple physical and artistic practices alongside dance. She practiced sports such as taekwondo, competitive swimming and handball, and was also involved in theatre, painting and sculpture classes. These early experiences laid the foundation for a practice rooted in curiosity, versatility and physical intelligence.

Throughout her training, she studied contemporary dance, ballet, modern dance and flamenco across several countries, including Uruguay, Paraguay, Brazil, Japan, Portugal, Belgium and the Netherlands. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Dance from the Escola Superior de Dança in Lisbon, graduating with merit. Prior to this, she completed her training at Escola de Dança Ana Manjericão, where she studied ballet, modern dance, jazz and contemporary dance, joined the Young Dance Company Project (2019–2021), and received a Merit Diploma. Her early formation also includes ballet studies at Reiko Matsuoka Ballet in Nagoya, Japan.

Vitória is a professional contemporary dancer working as a freelancer with different companies and projects. She was part of the Quorum Project (2021–2022) and later participated in the DIP – Anton Lachky Company program in Belgium. During the 2024–2025 season, she integrated the AZA Dance Program in Portugal, collaborating with Companhia de Dança de Almada, Companhia Paulo Ribeiro, Companhia Maior and Companhia de Dança Contemporânea de Évora (CDCE).

In 2025, she collaborated as a dancer in the creations Lucidez and Through the Bending of the Dream with CDCE, and continues to tour with her own solo creation, Unsettling Sense of Self. Alongside performance, she develops her work as a dance teacher and choreographer, with a strong interest in process, embodied awareness and sustainable movement practices.

As a child, she dreamed of becoming an inventor — intuitively sensing that a single discipline would never be enough to hold the breath of her interests. Curious and deeply engaged with learning, she developed a strong interest in science, particularly biology, which continues to inform her artistic, pedagogical and bodily practices.

Her background in scientific studies, combined with a fascination for anatomy and psychomotor processes, shaped her understanding of the body as an intelligent and complex system. This knowledge is reflected in her work as an anatomical illustrator, as well as in her approach to dance training, injury prevention and embodied awareness.

Pilates has accompanied her dance journey since the age of eight, initially as a student. Following a significant ankle injury, it became a turning point in her relationship with the body, fostering deeper care, awareness and responsibility. She completed her training in mat and equipment Pilates in 2024 and has been teaching since then. Alongside this, she is a certified Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) Level 1 teacher, a tool that further informs her approach to strength, alignment and conscious training within dance.

In 2025, she deepened her practice through a Reformer Pilates training with Satoé Lab, and in 2026 joined the team at INTU Pilates, where she currently works as an instructor. Pilates functions in her work as an extension of her dance practice — a space of precision, detail and presence, without the need to prove anything.

Beyond the studio, her relationship with the body extends into everyday life. She values conscious training and long-term physical health, maintaining a consistent gym practice as a way of preventing injuries and sustaining her work as a dancer. She also finds nourishment in human connection: cooking, sharing meals, welcoming friends into her home and staying close to people. For Vitória, care, movement and connection are inseparable dimensions of life and artistic practice.

Rigorously dedicated yet deeply human, Vitória values precision, curiosity and presence while cultivating warm, attentive and joyful working environments. Empathic, open-minded and communicative, she considers herself an eternal student, believing that each new layer of knowledge deepens her capacity to move, create, teach and relate.

She is available for professional collaborations as a dancer, teacher, choreographer and Pilates instructor, offering both group and private classes. She can currently be found teaching at INTU Pilates and may be contacted directly for dance, movement-related projects, training and classes.
